Paul Nilsson

Holding Diplomas from both the Gemological Institute of America (G.GIA) and the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (FGA distinction) as a trained Gemologist and Diamond Grader, Paul has been valuing New Zealanders’ jewellery for more than 30 years. Paul’s forte is large diamonds and high quality coloured stones. He has an in‐depth knowledge of the insurance industry and is able to advise on insurance claim matters. Jennifer

Jennifer is an FGA and DGA which means that she has the prestigious Gemmological and Diamond Diplomas from the Gemmological Association of Great Britain. Jen has been with GemLab for 20 years, and is therefore experienced in valuing all types of jewellery, with the accurate assessment of loose high quality diamonds her specialty.

Kelly

Another of our GIA trained Diamond Graders and Gemologists, Kelly has been with GemLab for more than 20 years, starting with us just before we moved from Vulcan Lane to the North Shore. Kelly is right up to date with the latest gem identification and advanced diamond grading techniques. She is also au fait with quality watches and their values.

Janelle

Janelle is a qualified GIA Diamond Grader (GIA) and FGA gemmologist and a full member of the Jewellery Valuers Society of New Zealand. Janelle is an experienced jewellery valuer, ready and able to provide accurate descriptions and values on all of your modern, estate, and antique jewellery items.

Justyna

Justyna is an insurance claim specialist jewellery valuer. Experienced with a wide range of jewellery in her previous roles in sales, management, and valuing with Walker and Hall in NZ, and Watches of Switzerland and Theo Fennell in London, Justyna has been with GemLab for more than 10 years.

Sarah

Sarah brings jewellery experience and a strong customer service ethos to GemLab after many years managing her family’s business, Charlton Jewellers, on the North Shore. Sarah also manages GemLab’s accounts, invoicing, paying the bills and making sure we get paid.

Karina

An experienced gemmologist and valuer, Karina has rejoined the GemLab staff as a part-time jewellery insurance claims valuer. Originally from England, Karina has the prestigious FGA and DGA qualifications from the Gemmological Association of Great Britain and comes from a family of Jewellery manufacturers and retailers.

Harri

Having worked both the customer service and the administration sides of the industry for the past five years, Harri has a strong interest in jewellery, gemstones and Swiss-made watches. With a degree in Visual Arts, she has also designed custom pieces for clients in previous roles. At GemLab, Harri makes sure your jewellery is looked after and documented before it goes to our Valuers

Annie

Annie is the insurance claims administrator for GemLab and, along with Harri, one of our valuers assistants. She has an eye for detail and is a fluent Chinese speaker. Annie will be your initial point of contact if you have a jewellery claim to be evaluated.
